BAFUNCS Career Paths Events at LSE and Oxford

A total of more than 200 students participated in two major events under the BAFUNCS Career Paths Programme held in October 2023, organized with the United Nations Association of Oxford University and the United Nations Society of the London School of Economics. The latter event included students from SOAS and Kings College London. The Oxford University careers service ensured that the announcement reached the entire student body, which meant the audience contained a wide range of degree subjects. Both events featured a discussion amongst the panellists about their UN careers which was facilitated by a moderator, leading into a question-and-answer session. The latter provoked a lively interaction with a wide range of questions asked in the two events. The LSE Panel included Nicholas Rosellini (LON), Nicola Harrington (OVS) and John Cubbon (LON), with Nicola connected remotely from Brussels in a hybrid format. The panel at Oxford University included Stephen Rudgard (OXF), Melanie Hutchinson (OXF) and Sam Daws as a guest panellist from the staff of the hosting Department of Politics and International Relations. Small receptions were held after the events to allow the participants to raise further points with the panellists.
